roman-hunter
« on: September 06, 2017, 05:41:18 AM »

A new member of the Serbian group. Since the photos are also made in the Serbian counterfeiting workshop (delivery always from the former Yugoslavia), easy to recognize the same style.

The rest is detective work. Exclusion for shipment: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of, Germany, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia

Germany - that's me :-)
I and/or my country is blocked by all Serbian gang-members for good reasons.

The "Byzantine" fake is not from bronze as offered, but from silver. New and unused, badly trimmed on old

I am surprised that the buyers do not see that all the rings (in this case also the fibula) come from the same workshop

14 days fake selling by the Serbian group.

Number of fakes                                   48
of which                                               46 rings
the spiced up bronze rings are not included

recorded Dec., 19, 2017

It seems that nobody sees the similarity of the rings

there are still many fakes waiting to be shown. With the mass of fake rings, it's hard to keep up

While fakes and looted artifacts have been a problem on the internet for a long time, two recent factors have combined to increase the problem. First, the proliferation of social media and retail platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, eBay, and secondly, the buyers themselves by their greed for bargains and their inability to acquire at least a minimum of knowledge before buying.

The Serbian group (6 gang members) now sells 4-5 silver ring fakes per member. Total of 20 to 26 fakes per week.
From now on I will leave the pictures uncommented. The crowd forces a quick and efficient show-off. By now, the attentive observers may well be able to identify the fakes as such.

First ring is for fake collector with no idea. Everything is wrong with this ring, neither the description nor the ring nor the alleged portrait are believable
