He does this often. Buys reproductions on eBay and resells as ancient.
Sellers are so trusting! And why don't they simply search and see if they can find others sold as modern???

I just fell victim to antiquiti and found this forum after the fact  >:(   I am guessing this is a complete fake judging by his infamous track record....I went by his ebay reviews which are surprisingly positive.  I should have done my due diligence.

The only reason I thought this could be real is it is unlike any Ubaid figurine I have seen.  So it's not a replica of something existing.  He got me for $1000. I am hoping to return and file a complaint.

Is there any chance this could be real?  Or is that a pipe dream.  Thanks guys

Hello,

I dont know why you say "it is unlike any Ubaid figurine I have seen" as to my eyes it is either genuine or an excellent copy.
But what chance this outrageous seller of fakes would be selling a genuine one???!!
VERY unlikely I think.
I would never buy something like this without a thermoluminescence test. But Mr Davies isnot going to give you the opportunity to do this with an option to return it if it fails testing.
He will claim it is genuine of course. But he knows absolutely nothing about ancient artefacts!
This man should be investigated. The police should call on him. He has ripped off thousands and thousands of gullible eBayers.
Simon.
