Re the pottery and others, If you spent a good amount of money it might pay you to get a T.L date, as I did, this is accepted by just about all authorities as a definite result and then you can make a complaint to your local consumer body such as the ACCC in Australia,as I have done, EBAY states, in the case of EBAY.Au, that everything must abide by Aust Law. This is one pathway in obtaining justice [what ever that is when it comes to ebay]

Place a small drop of rainwater or as pure as you can get on the surface. let it stand for as long as possible and then place a strip of litmus paper if it turns any shade of 'red' it has been treated [aged] with acid most fake patineas have been created using an acid of some type. Another tip the genuine article should have blue/green flakes which indicate copper present as part of the manufacturing process if genuine it will present with small faded patches of red. A third tip, under the microscope, see if there is any evidence of microburst bubbles on the surface as this is conclusive evidence of modern fakery. and finally if any area can be scratched with your fingernail it is a fake.
thanks a lot!

Aside from picking their pockets what other harm done to online shopping ignoramuses? These oblivious legions traipse over to mailbox and take ownership of priceless antiquities personally owned by Socrates and Cicero. Happy as pigs frolicking in mud, they are. No real harm done.

Ebay could reply: "Take a look at the many negative reviews. If you buy anyway, it's at your own risk.

That's all we can do. The ignorance of the buyers is really not our fault."

Hi there,

Be very interested to know if anything comes of this.

Many of us here have reported Mr Davies (and others) to eBay but they have done absolutely nothing about it.

In fact eBay assists sellers in removing negative feedback!  There are examples of this all over this forum.

Some info here https://ancientartifakes.net/smf/index.php/board,365.0.html

And look at this seller of fake coins!

How can eBay simply let this continue???

Cheers,
Brad.

FYI, I have made an official complaint to the ACCC, the Australian Govt Commission which handles all things to do with consumers' rights under their "Misleading and Deceptive Conduct" Reg. As I understand it the same applies in the U.K.,
I bought three tablets from him and had them T.L. tested with the result "Modern" The same with an Egyptian Bird figure.
At least I have learned a lesson. [I hope] What bugs me is that eBay has no interest in stopping such endors despite their terms and conditions stating descriptions must be accurate etc.

Gross oversight in spacing out such mind blowing feedback?
